Tottenham won 2-0 at home to Brentford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Friday (12/3/2021) early morning hrs. Two goals, the Lilywhites scored by Son Heung-min and an own goal by Sergi Canos.
After the match, Conte admitted it was not an easy victory for his squad. But the Italian coach praised his players who worked hard to get the three points.
“Today was a good win. To get the three points is not easy against Brentford, I have seen a good team, well organised, very dangerous at set pieces,” Conte said as reported by Sky Sport.
“But today we showed a great desire to get the three points, to win. And we fought to win tackles and we were very, very concentrated.”
“For sure we can improve. We have a lot of room to improve ball possession. Without the ball we did very well,” he said
“We put pressure from start to finish. I wanted to see this without the ball. We have to continue playing. work and improve in many aspects,” concluded Conte.
The win is also a phenomenal record for new coach Antonio Conte, who is unbeaten in three games in the Premier League.
These results also make Tottenham Hotspur temporarily in sixth place in the Premier League standings with a collection of 22 points from 13 matches. While Brentford is stranded in 12th place with 16 points.
