Miss Universe Thailand body shape is considered not according to standards

The Miss Universe 2021 pageant was held last Monday. The representative from India, namely Harnaaz Sandhu, has been officially selected as Miss Universe 2021.

Apart from Harnaaz Sandhu, other rows of Miss Universe 2021 finalists are also being highlighted. One of them is a representative from Thailand.

Miss Universe Thailand Anchilee Scott-Kemmis previously attracted attention for bringing the message #realsizebeauty and talking about body shape.

The model of Thai-Australian descent revealed that she had been rejected as a model because her body shape was not up to standard.

Launching the South China Morning Post, Anchilee Scott-Kemmis is considered not according to beauty standards in Thailand because she has a height of 183 cm.

“Thai society has had a crisis of beauty standards for a long time. Many female judges sympathized with Anchilee’s story and how she told it. Since becoming a teenage model in Thailand, even though she is beautiful, she is too big,” said one of the judges of Miss Universe Thailand, Thitipong Duangkong.

Because she managed to come out as the winner of Miss Universe Thailand and advance to Miss Universe 2021, Anchilee is considered successful in bringing a message about body positivity.

The reason is that a body shape like Anchilee is considered too tall and too athletic in Thailand.

During this time, Thai beauty standards assume that women are beautiful if they have slender legs and arms and white skin.

In addition, the 22-year-old model revealed that the fashion world is starting to change because people want to see more human models.

“Those who have never been criticized for their bodies will not understand,” said Anchilee.

“Real beauty is about recognizing the worth of all people and respecting all regardless of big, small, tall or short,” she added.
